Hoping for

Some luck! Skovfarmen´s Chocolate Happy Hetty finally decided to start her season. More than two months later than expected but better late than never.

This is the first time I am going to use frozen semen and I am pretty excited about it. I picked it up in Holland myself traveling with this R2D2 look-a-like in the back of my car. And I can tell you that I was nervous all the way back home untill the cargo was delivered safely to the vet. Now it is safe in the spermbank at Frijsenborg vets.

The sire I am going to use is dead now – 15 years old. His name is Mountainmist Strummer and he was imported from Australia to Holland by Arjan Monster Uluru kennel. I met Strummer last year in December 2013 and he was looking great even at 14 years old. Healthy but ofcourse not like a young dog.  I have looked at him many times and always wanted to use him but I didn’t feel that I had the right bitch for him. I have the right bitch now.

Strummer ofcourse have some great ofspring alive and kicking – that I have used and also some I could have used now but I want to try to make my own Strummer litter – I want the real McCoy 😉

So now the waiting time has started – first waiting for the right time for the insemination and then waiting to see if it turns out to be a succes. There is a lot of waiting time included being a breeder.

So far the waiting list for this litter is closed. I have too many people waiting and I don’t expect such a huge litter from an insemination.

So I really hope this will work out – it would be the best Christmas gift I could get 🙂
